One of the most challenging of all the techniques the Nemesis staff have under taken was the creation of a miniature Energy Mesh Generator. While large units are already being tested for ships and even tanks, making a unit small enough to fit inside the human body was a considerable achievement. When activeated it creates a "ripple" in the ZPF layer between the quantum and "normal" universes. In effect it acts as an impenetrable barricade, since the energy and forces involved are staggering in their potency, yet little power is needed to stimulate the generation of a field. However, since it is based on a cubic volume of affected normal space, the ratio of energy soon becomes too great for a small device to generate a large shield. The unit in Rodriguez' new arm can generate fields up to 3 metres square. It uses a chemical based generator, utilizing the agent's own blood stream, since this is a finite resource it limits the frequency of use.
